Tom hails from the North of England, and has been riding motorbikes since he could walk. He has an extensive knowledge of everything two-wheeled - in particular the classic British kind - courtesy of his father Rod who, if possible, is even more of a motorcycle nut that Tom. Having spent a lot of his life rambling through the hills of Europe on mountian bikes and motorbikes, he travelled to New Zealand in 2013 to pursue its world-renowed downhill mountain bike trails, atfer a stint travelling around Thailand and with the view of continue travelling on to the Americas.

 

Unfortunately for him his adventures were somewhat intercepted by Lucy, who had found her way to Queenstown after travelling around South East Asia in 2012. Aside from a one-off ride on the back of her step-dad's Harley Davidson at ten years old, Lucy on the other hand had had very little to do with motorbikes before meeting Tom, gorwing up in South-West London and  How things have changed!

 

Tom arrived in Queenstown towards the end of Lucy's first year living in one of the adventure capitals of the world. She was quickly won over by his mountain-biking talent, sense of humour, kind nature and of course his sexy old school Lada Niva 4x4, and so we were happily together within a few weeks of meeting.

 

After just six months I think we already knew we were onto something good, and decided to take a big jump and move to Australia together for a new adventure. And here we are two years later planning the most exciting trip of our lives so far.

 

Admittedly at first it was very much Tom's plan but a couple of years down the line our lives are very much shared, and the amount of time spent riding pillion on various mini adventures means this trip has turned into as much Lucy's dream as it is Tom's.

 

Touching down on British soil will mark the 21st country we'll have visited together over the last 3 years, 15 of which will be done in the last 5 months of our adventure so far.
